A locally-owned chain of bakeries will soon open its fifth bakery, and first in Tarrant County, in Hurst.
Latham Bakery opened in Forney in 2017 with just 15 employees. Less than a decade later the bakery has opened locations in Canton, Kaufman and Garland. Another is planned for Royse City, in addition to the Hurst bakery.
The bakery sells pastries, custom cupcakes, cakes, cheesecakes and pies. They offer a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu with club sandwiches made on homemade breads and croissants and salads. The bakery also has gluten-free options.
Owner Malinda Latham says the most popular items are chicken salad sandwiches and blueberry scones. D Magazine recommends the tres leches Bundt cake, sticky buns or any of their specialty brownies.
The new bakery will be in a space at 316 E. Pipeline Road in Hurst, in a former Pho restaurant. A Facebook post reveals they will be ready to open in just a few short weeks.
