Fort Worth ISD’s Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center is set to host boys and girls Class 6A Division I and Class 6A Division II basketball semifinals, the University Interscholastic League announced Wednesday.

Birdville ISD’s W.G. Thomas Coliseum will host Class 5A boys and girls semifinals. Both venues will pit the Region I and Region II winners against each other.

The 2027 season is set to be the first year the UIL will have predetermined sites for the semifinal games. Last season, head coaches had to mutually agree on a venue or put it to a coin flip.

Wilkerson-Greines is known for creating an electric, intimate environment. In 2025, Wilkerson-Greines hosted North Crowley’s state semifinal win over Duncanville, providing one of the most memorable atmospheres of the 2025-26 school year with approximately 5,000 fans in attendance.

The teams will compete with state final appearances at the Alamodome in San Antonio on the line. The girls basketball state finals will begin March 4, while the boys basketball finals will commence March 11.

The time and dates for the semifinals games are to be determined.

Before the UIL’s split division formant implemented ahead of the 2024-25 school year, the semifinal basketball games were played at the state final venue, which at the time, was the Alamodome.
