HOUSTON – Houston police detectives are investigating a fatal shooting at an apartment complex on Blalock Rd.
Officers got to the scene around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday night and found a man who had been shot. That man died at the scene.
Lt. Larry Crowson says this happened at around 8 p.m. Officers were nearby and arrived almost immediately after the call came in.
Witnesses told police that a masked man had approached the victim, who was sitting on a front porch. There was some sort of interaction between the suspect and victim, at which time the suspect pulled out a pistol and shot the victim before fleeing.
Police found a man matching the suspect’s description hiding in brush by a nearby bayou. They say he had a broken foot. He was taken into custody.
At this time, the motive for the shooting is unclear. Police do not believe there is any danger to the public at this time.
