North Texas will see another stretch of hot, dry weather this week before rain chances increase and temperatures potentially drop.
Thursday’s rain chances remain low, with partly cloudy skies and a high temperature near 95 degrees, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office. The heat index, or “feels like” temperature, could reach 96 degrees.
Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid- to upper-70s until around 10 a.m., according to the weather service.
An active weather pattern is forecast to return to North Texas next week, bringing increased rain chances and what the weather service called the area’s “first decent cooldown.”
“Time will tell if this delivers our first taste of fall weather,” the weather service said in its Wednesday afternoon forecast.
According to the weather service, Dallas-Fort Worth has a 20% chance of showers and storms Sunday and Monday. That chance increases to 50% on Tuesday, according to the forecast.
