Democrat U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico continues to lead in the Texas U.S. Senate battle.

A new poll from Texas Public Opinion Research (TPOR) released Friday, Sept. 25, shows Talarico with a five-point lead over Republican rival Ken Paxton with less than six weeks to go before the Nov. 3 General Election. The poll surveyed 1,007 likely Texas voters between Sept. 19 and Sept. 23.

The poll found 49% of respondents backing Talarico compared to 44% for Paxton, a slight decrease over the six-point advantage he held in TPOR’s August poll.
