An area of northwest Fort Worth Fort Worth could see traffic improvements soon.
The Fort Worth City Council is set to weigh an $11.5 million contract with DDM Construction Corporation for reconstruction and intersection improvements along Meandering Road from LTJG Barnett Road to Roberts Cut Off Road.
The work will include:
Reconstructing Meandering Road to provide three-lane roadways from River Oaks Boulevard to Anahuac Avenue.Reconstructing LTJG Barnett Road from Meandering Road to the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base East Gate in Fort Worth.Constructing intersection improvements, including a roundabout, at the intersection of LTJG Barnett Road and Meandering Road.Constructing a four-way stop sign at Yale Street and Meandering Road.Realigning the intersection, and adding a traffic signal, at the intersection of Roberts Cut Off Road and Meandering Road. The contract will also include adding sidewalks and “shared use paths” within the project’s limits, and bike lanes on LTJG Barnett Road.
The project, according to city documents, is federally funded. The city of Fort Worth will be offering regional transportation credits — a financing tool which acts as a non-cash local match so a project can be funded with federal dollars.
