Dallas Trinity FC fell to Lexington SC, 3-0, on Friday evening at Lexington Stadium, ending its winning streak at three games.
After a scoreless first half, Lexington broke the deadlock in the 56th minute on a goal by midfielder Addie McCain, give the home side a 1-0 lead. Lexington extended its lead in the 69th minute when forward Catherine Barry, last season’s Gainbridge Super League Golden Boot winner, scored to make it 2-0. Barry added another goal in the 80th minute from the penalty spot to complete the scoring.
“I think we had trouble today trying to find the spaces, and our switch point of attack could be better,” Trinity FC head coach Lee Nguyen said after the game. “The second half was a little bit better for us in trying to create more chances in possession. We’ll look back at this game. For me, the 3-0 result doesn’t reflect what I saw from the performance on the field.”
Trinity FC continues its four-game road trip on Oct. 10 when it travels to play Brooklyn FC, whom it beat 3-0 at the Cotton Bowl earlier this season.
