SCURRY COUNTY, Texas — An 18-year-old San Antonio man was killed Friday night after his vehicle left U.S. Highway 84 and overturned in Scurry County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The crash happened about 10 p.m. Friday at U.S. 84 and Farm-to-Market Road 1606.
DPS said Bakari James DiAngelo Brown was driving a 1998 Lexus LS4 north on U.S. 84 at a high rate of speed in the passing lane when he lost control. Investigators said Brown failed to maintain a single lane, left the roadway and rolled over.
Brown, who DPS said was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Ricki Webb.
No other vehicles were involved, and no other injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation.
