LUBBOCK, TX (KLBK) – KLBK Meteorologist Leah Rodriguez has your Saturday evening weather update for November 8, 2025.
Tonight: Mostly clear. Low of 38°. Winds from the NE 10-15 MPH.
Tomorrow: Clear. High of 58°. Winds NE 10-20 MPH, gusts near 25 MPH.
TONIGHT:
Cooler air continues to pour into West Texas after Texas Tech froze BYU this morning. Just from the top of the 5 PM hour to 6 PM, our temperatures dropped 6 degrees. Luckily, our winds have backed off this evening, so we won’t necessarily have to factor in a wind chill, but temperatures will still get cold. We look to start our Sunday morning with temperatures ranging from the low 30s to the low 40s. Some areas, like Muleshoe, Friona, Dimmitt, and Clovis, could potentially start their morning with below-freezing temperatures. Wind speeds are not expected to be stronger than 15 MPH tonight.
Forecast Low Temperatures for Sunday Morning, November 9, 2025.
SUNDAY:
Tomorrow afternoon will be chilly but fairly pleasant. Winds will be from the northeast tomorrow with speeds between 10 to 20 MPH. The afternoon will be the breeziest time of the day with a few wind gusts near 25 MPH. High temperatures look to top out in the mid-50s and low 60s under clear skies.
Forecast High Temperatures for Sunday Afternoon, November 9, 2025
EXTENDED FORECAST:
More cold air will continue to flow in Sunday night and bring the coldest morning in the week ahead on Monday. A Freeze Watch has been issued for Borden and Scurry Counties for Monday morning because temperatures in the low 30s are expected for those far southern portions of the area. The rest of our counties can easily anticipate freezing temperatures on Monday morning as well. Winds will be a bit breezy on Monday, so wind chills may start in the 20s for some folks on Monday morning. Tuesday will become breezier with gusts near 30 MPH possible. A brief stint of northerly winds will move in Wednesday morning and help bring our rising temperatures down just a bit. The back half of the week will definitely be warm, with highs expected to reach the 80s by Thursday. No rain is expected for the next 7 days, but a very different weather pattern could begin to move in after next Saturday. We’re optimistic for this change because some of our weather models are already beginning to pick up on the possibility of some rain.
