One of the most popular names in barbecue has moved on up into a historic Texas property, opening their doors for excited fans this weekend. Meat Church, Matt Pittman’s barbecue brand with more than 1.2 million YouTube subscribers, launched on Saturday its new supply store at the former Boyce Feed Store in Waxahachie.
Formerly, Meat Church was headquartered on Main Street in Waxahachie, about 30 miles south of Dallas. But in June, Pittman announced he had purchased the former Boyce Feed Store at 441 S. College St. The three-acre space is triple what they had before on Main Street.
“We could go on and on,” Pittman wrote in June. “This is where I filmed my BBQ pitmaster tryout video back in 2014. We are excited to welcome you all soon!”
The welcome happened Saturday, as Meat Church unveiled a massive new store with its barbecue seasonings, meat products, equipment, supplies and merchandise. Pittman recorded a video Saturday morning promoting all the stuff he has in the store, including former NFL star Von Miller’s own Greener Pastures Chicken products, Traeger grills, an entire YETI room and 17 different kinds of poncho shirts for sale.

Plus, on Saturdays, Meat Church offers free barbecue and beer to all customers. And the bar has 43 Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels; Pittman called it the nicest bar in Ellis County.
“What a crazy amazing great day,” Pittman said in a video after the first day Saturday. “We’re absolutely blown away. You could not move in here for the first three hours.” Pittman also held a drawing for a hat autographed by Miller.
Pittman, who’s from Texas, attended the University of Texas at Arlington and competed in season six of the show BBQ Pitmasters in 2014. From there, Pittman launched Meat Church, first as a spice blend and rub producer, and later adding supplies and more multimedia elements. Pittman’s @MeatChurchBBQ YouTube channel offers recipes, goes on the road with Pittman, and hosts his podcast. On Instagram the Meat Church brand has nearly 1 million followers.
