An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed early Saturday when his bike collided with a vehicle on Interstate Highway 20 near Bowman Springs Road in Arlington, police said.
Officers were dispatched to the scene at around 1:01 a.m. Saturday, where they found the motorcyclist lying on the shoulder of the highway, according to a statement. The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Preliminary investigation found the man rear-ended a Honda Civic and was thrown from his bike, police said. The impact caused the Civic to strike construction barriers on the roadway. The Civic’s driver was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police think the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred, according to a statement.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the motorcyclist as Landon Corbia Murphy.
