HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A man is accused of pretending to be an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, according to court documents.

Court documents show that the man is identified as 48-year-old Majid Shaheed Mohammed, who is now charged with impersonating a public servant.

Houston police said the incident happened after a minor car accident in a parking garage at a west Houston apartment complex.

The family, who said they reported it to police, provided ABC13 with dash cam video of the incident.

In the video, you hear a man say, “I am ICE.”

ABC13 spoke with the son of the woman who was involved in the crash. He said his mom hit another car in the parking garage. He did not want to be identified because of the ongoing case.

The son said a man, who was not involved in the crash, started asking them questions and identified himself as an ICE agent.

“He just said, ‘She is a citizen? American citizen?’ I tell him, ‘Why are you asking that?’ And he says, ‘Because I am ICE.'”

The son said he asked for their apartment number and their apartment lease as well. HPD told ABC13 that Mohammed was a relative of someone in the car that was hit.

Mohammed is charged with impersonating a public servant and his bond was set at $20,000.

“My mom was really nervous,” the son said.

The woman’s son said they’re still shaken up by the whole situation, because they said they gave Mohammed a lot of personal information.

“My mom’s address, have my apartment number, have everything,” the son said. “My mom says she doesn’t feel safe and me neither.”
