Texas baseball isn’t quite in the longest national-title drought in program history, but that dubious record is creeping up.

UT went 25 years without a College World Series championship from 1950 to 1975; now the Longhorns sit at 21 seasons without the crown. Under head coach Jim Schlossnagle, it appears the Longhorns are getting closer. After advancing to the NCAA regional round in Schlossnagle’s first season, the Longhorns made it to the College World Series in 2026.

Could greater things be in store for 2027? If so, Texas will have to handle a rigorous conference schedule that features 10 series against SEC opponents. Of those 10 teams, seven made the NCAA Tournament with four of them being regional hosts.

The Longhorns themselves hosted a regional as well and are set to return 14 letterwinners from that team. UT is also adding both a highly rated transfer class and a top-five recruiting class to its roster.

Before we get to Opening Day 2027, let’s take a look at the Longhorns schedule:

March 25-27: vs. South Carolina

April 9-11: vs. Tennessee

April 23-25: vs. Arkansas

April 30-May 2: vs. Vanderbilt

May 14-16: vs. Texas A&M
