Woman detained after 4-year-old girl was fatally shot in west Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A 4-year-old girl is dead after a shooting in west Houston on Tuesday evening, according to the Houston Police Department.

According to HPD, officers responded to the scene at 300 Terra Reserve. Upon arrival, officers found the child dead at the scene.

Police say that officers detained a woman, possibly the child’s mother, who was shot and later taken to a hospital, where she is expected to survive.
