Houston traffic: North Freeway southbound blocked at Woodlands Pkwy due to hazmat scene, TxDOT says

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Multiple southbound lanes of the North Freeway at Woodlands Parkway are expected to be blocked for hours while crews work to clear the aftermath of a heavy truck incident, according to TxDOT.

On Wednesday, the Texas Department of Transportation shared on social media that multiple southbound lanes were blocked due to the hazmat/heavy truck incident.

“Currently, a few lanes have been opened to flush some of the traffic but lanes will be reduced to resume cleanup,” TxDOT shared.

While details of the incident were not immediately disclosed, a second image showed a heavily burned, damaged big rig on the side of the highway.

TxDOT said crews estimate it will take two to three hours to clear the scene.
