SAN ANTONIO — The Texas Department of Transportation will close the westbound Loop 1604 main lanes between Pat Booker Road and Lookout Road this weekend as part of the Interstate 35 Northeast Expansion Program.
The closure is scheduled from 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, through 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, weather permitting.
All westbound main lanes in the area will close while crews move traffic into a new pattern. Drivers will be detoured onto the westbound Loop 1604 collector-distributor lanes and frontage road between Lookout Road and Nacogdoches Road.
Access to the westbound main lanes will remain available at Nacogdoches Road, TxDOT said.
After the traffic shift, the westbound Loop 1604 exit ramp to Lookout Road will permanently close. Drivers heading to Lookout Road from westbound Loop 1604 will need to use the collector-distributor lanes, where new signs will direct traffic.
TxDOT said the closure may be postponed because of weather.
