LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Spooky season is here, and Covenant Children’s is brewing up a spooktacular partnership with Spirit Halloween for the 17th annual Spirit of Children fundraiser.
This collaboration invites the community to channel their inner superhero by purchasing costumes using a special coupon, with proceeds supporting children experiencing illness and medical challenges. These funds contribute to 10,000+ moments of comfort, play and healing provided each year at Covenant Children’s.
This year, contributions will help provide the countless play and therapeutic tools used daily for bedside play sessions, sensory tools, comfort items, music therapy, creative arts experiences, therapeutic playroom visits and much more for young patients. By nurturing a healing environment, Covenant Children’s aims to positively impact the lives of those in their care.

As the only faith-based, licensed, freestanding pediatric hospital in the region, Covenant Children’s has been awarded nearly $375,000 from this partnership with Spirit Halloween. These funds have been instrumental in hiring a part-time child life specialist for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, expanding our artists in residence program, and updating and stocking Lindsay’s Playroom.
