A new H-E-B is planned in southwest Fort Worth as the company expands across North Texas.
FortWorth
It’s official: An H-E-B store is coming to southwest Fort Worth.
H-E-B announced on Friday, Oct. 2 that the company plans to build a store on the northeast corner of Chisholm Trail Parkway and Oakmont Boulevard, in the 250-acre Overland community in Edwards Ranch.
Construction is expected to begin in early 2027, according to a press release from H-E-B, and the store is expected to open in late 2028.
H-E-B previously filed construction paperwork for the store but did not publicly announce plans.
Over the past 70 years, the development arm of the Edwards family, Cassco, has developed their land for neighborhoods and mixed-use projects including Clearfork, Riverhills, Overton Park and Tanglewood, the release states.
“We are honored to partner with H-E-B, a beloved Texas institution whose deep connection to its customers and neighborhoods closely reflects our own values of thoughtful development and investment in the Fort Worth community,” Cassco President Crawford Edwards said.
H-E-B said it’s proud to partner with Cassco in developing the new grocery location.
“For years, customers have asked us when a new H‑E‑B would come closer to downtown Fort Worth, and with our new store on Chisholm Parkway, we can now say that day is soon,” said Stephen Butt, president of H‑E‑B Shareholder Relations.
The southwest location will be the third H-E-B store in Fort Worth.
The Alliance H-E-B opened in 2024. The Walsh Ranch H-E-B is expected to wrap up construction in December 2026.
