HOUSTON – A man is in critical condition after being shot in the stomach at a home in southeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
HPD said they received a call around 4:10 a.m. Saturday reporting a shooting in the 6500 block of Fairway Drive.
At the scene, HPD Lt. Pulido said a man was inside a garage with a woman, who was described as a witness, when he was shot from inside the house. The man was taken to a local hospital, where police said he is in critical condition.
Authorities said they believe the suspect is still in the house, prompting a perimeter set up and SWAT response to try and remove them.
Police are urging people to avoid the area near Loop 610 and Broad Street.
