HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Harris County Justice Kristin Guiney has died, the Texas First Court of Appeals said.
The court announced the news Friday afternoon and shared heartfelt condolences with Guiney’s family.
The cause and manner of Guiney’s death have not been revealed, and the court said that her passing was “untimely.”
According to the Texas First Court of Appeals webpage, Guiney was elected to the court in November 2024 and previously served as a state district judge in Harris County. There, the court said, she served as a Star Court judge, where Guiney was proud to help “those less fortunate” lead better lives.
