Stubborn clouds give way to warming trend this week

  • October 5, 2026

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Low clouds are proving stubborn again Monday morning and could linger into the afternoon across the Caprock, much like Sunday.

Patchy fog will be possible on the Caprock through 9 a.m. Skies should clear from east to west, with areas east of Interstate 27 warming faster under more sunshine.

Highs will still reach the upper 70s and lower 80s where clouds clear. Most light showers will stay to the south near Interstate 20, leaving the Hub City and South Plains dry.

Overnight lows will stay mild in the 50s and 60s under light east winds with lingering low clouds.

A warming trend will continue through much of the week, with temperatures climbing back above normal by midweek. Mostly dry weather is expected.
