LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The 11th annual Lubbock Veterans Day Parade is next month.
Organized by Los Hermanos Familia, the parade honors veterans and all who have served in Lubbock.
The parade will be Saturday morning, Nov. 14, at 10 a.m. Participants can set up as early as 8 a.m.
There is no fee to participate in the parade, but registration is required.
The parade will start from Avenue A, then head east down Broadway, and end at the American Windmill Museum near Canyon Lake Drive, at 1701 Canyon Lake Drive.
The 2026 theme is “250 Years of Freedom,” celebrating the American flag and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Steve Oien, a co-chair of the parade, said on KCBD’s Noon Notebook that this year they want to honor World War II veterans by making them grand marshals for the parade.
The Veterans Parade Committee of Los Hermanos Familia and the Purple Hearts of the South Plains 0900 will honor WWII veterans as the 2026 grand marshals.
If you have a family member or know of someone who served in World War II, you can give their name and contact information to Los Hermanos Familia by emailing loshermanosfamilia@gmail.com
