As the calendar flips to October, UTA sports continue in action.
Here’s the athletic schedule for Tuesday to Oct. 12.
Volleyball
The volleyball team begins a four-game road trip this week, starting against Abilene Christian University at 6 p.m. Thursday at Moody Coliseum in Abilene, Texas. The Wildcats are third in the United Athletic Conference standings and have won six of their last seven games.
The Mavericks will travel to face the University of Arkansas at Little Rock at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Trojans swept UTA 3-0 in Arlington Thursday.
Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
Men’s tennis
The men’s tennis team will compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Texas Regionals from Thursday to Sunday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth.
The Mavericks were scheduled to begin their season last week, but their opening three-day tournament was canceled due to weather.
This will be the first time the players will face other schools since the team’s 2025-26 season was cut short in March due to team injuries.
Specific times and matchups for each player have yet to be released.
Women’s tennis
The women’s tennis team will also compete in the ITA Texas Regionals from Thursday to Sunday at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
The last time the Mavericks took the court, two players reached their flight finals, including sophomore Tasnime Ahamout, who won hers, according to previous Shorthorn reporting.
Specific times and matchups for each player have yet to be released.
Men’s golf
The men’s golf team will begin play Monday in the Tall City Collegiate at the Midland Country Club in Midland, Texas.
The University of Wyoming-hosted tournament will be the Mavericks’ first since placing third in the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, where graduate student Joseph Hayden placed in the top 10.
Women’s golf
The women’s golf team will start the Golf Iconic Classic on Monday at the New Mexico State Golf Course and Club House in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Last time the team teed up, UTA placed 10th of 12 teams in the Red Raider Invitational, and the team’s highest finisher, senior Nirjara Gulhane, ended up in 37th.
