  • October 6, 2026

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A warming trend will build through midweek, pushing afternoon highs back above normal. Tuesday will be quiet under a ridge of high pressure, with light southwest winds, mostly clear skies and highs in the upper 70s on the Caprock and upper 80s off the Caprock. Lows Tuesday night will fall into the 50s and 60s.

Mostly dry weather continues Wednesday and beyond, though there is some slight indication of isolated showers and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon across southern portions of the area.

On the tropical front, activity is perking up in the western Gulf later this week, followed by an eastern Pacific system that could steer some moisture toward the region by early next week.

The forecast remains dry and mild through much of the week, with no sign of widespread rain chances until Monday at the earliest.
