SAN ANTONIO — A woman who disappeared after leaving her San Antonio home Friday was later tracked to a hotel after sending family members photos that appeared to show injuries from an alleged attack.

Christopher Robles is charged with aggravated kidnapping with bodily injury.

According to the arrest report, the woman’s mother contacted San Antonio Police early Saturday after she had not heard from her daughter since about 10 p.m. Friday. She told investigators her daughter was in an abusive dating relationship with Robles and she was concerned for her safety.

The mother said she sent her daughter several text messages asking her to respond and let her know she was OK. The woman eventually replied with two “selfie-style” photos of herself that appeared to show swelling, bleeding and other injuries to her face, according to the arrest report.

Investigators said the woman also appeared to be wearing bloody clothing in the photos.

Investigators also said Robles had an active warrant related to a parole violation. He also have a history of violence against the victim, including arrested on Feb. 21 and another alleged assault on Oct. 2.

The woman’s 17-year-old daughter told investigators she last saw her mother around 5 p.m. Friday and that she did not have visible facial injuries at the time. The woman told her daughter she was leaving to give Robles a ride because he was having car trouble, according to the arrest report.

Investigators later tracked the woman’s vehicle to a nearby McDonald’s. Surveillance video showed her arriving before Robles pulled into the parking lot in a separate SUV, according to the arrest report. The two were seen talking before the woman got into Robles’ vehicle and they drove away, investigators said.

Family members later gained access to the woman’s location through her Google account, which showed her at a Fairfield by Marriott hotel in San Antonio, according to the arrest report. Hotel employees told investigators Robles had checked into a room with a woman. The arrest report says employees had also received complaints about a woman screaming from the room.

Hotel staff performed a welfare check, but investigators said Robles answered the door and would not allow the woman to come to the door. Employees told police they heard her say everything was fine before the door was closed.

Police later went to the hotel and found Robles’ vehicle in the parking lot. Investigators said hotel records showed the room was registered under his name.

Investigators accused Robles of abducting the woman with the intent to terrorize or injure her.
