Micah Edwards, better known as Mr. Texas Soul, will bring his blend of country, R&B and Americana to Plano this weekend.
Edwards will perform at Love & War in Texas on Saturday, Oct. 10, alongside Marley Hale. VIP tickets are available for the show.
The Houston-based musician recently released his sophomore album, Texas Soul, which pulls from classic country, vintage R&B, rockabilly, Tejano and other sounds that have shaped Texas music.
The album serves as a love letter to the state and the communities that don’t always make it into songs about Texas, drawing inspiration from small towns, dance halls and backroads.
Edwards, who was born in California to a Black father and white mother, has described his music as reflecting the experience of living between different cultures and traditions. His influences stretch across decades, from 1940s boleros and 1950s rockabilly to ’60s R&B, ’70s rock and ’80s country.
The singer-songwriter has amassed more than 150 million streams and was previously named a “Top Shelf” artist in NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest. He has also shared stages with JOHNNYSWIM, Saint Motel, Mac Ayres and The War & Treaty.
Edwards and Marley Hale perform Saturday, Oct. 10 at Love & War in Texas in Plano.
