Campbell, best known for “Evil Dead,” “Bubba Ho-Tep” and “Burn Notice,” is bringing his independent romantic comedy “Ernie & Emma” to two Alamo Drafthouse locations in Austin as part of a nationwide screening tour.

The film follows Ernie Tyler, a small-town pear salesman who sets off across Oregon’s Pear Valley following the death of his wife, Emma. Guided by a list of instructions she leaves behind, Ernie embarks on a journey dealing with grief, love, purpose and finding a way forward.

The Austin screenings will include appearances by Campbell and live conversations about the film.

Austin screening dates October 9-15, 2026 at Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline and Alamo Drafthouse Slaughter Lane

“Ernie & Emma” marks a departure from many of the genre roles that have defined Campbell’s career. The actor says the film centers on something nearly everyone can relate to: losing someone you love and figuring out how to move forward.

The Austin stops are part of an 18-city Alamo Drafthouse tour running through November.

Campbell sat down with CBS Austin’s Allison Miller ahead of his Central Texas appearances to talk about the film, why he wanted to tell this story, and what audiences can expect when he joins them at the theater. Stay tuned for more on that interview.

Tickets for the Austin screenings are on sale now through Alamo Drafthouse.
