Taylor Sheridan will be honored in Austin with the History-Making Texan Award from the Texas State History Museum Foundation. The foundation selected the Fort Worth-raised creative as one of its 2027 honorees. It said Sheridan is being honored for helping to “tell the Texas story.” He has built a career as a creator, writer, director and executive producer, with films like Sicario and Hell or High Water, plus series including Yellowstone, Landman, Lawmen: Bass Reeves and Tulsa King. Sheridan also owns the 6666 Ranch in West Texas and Bosque Ranch near Fort Worth. He and John L. Nau III will receive their awards at the Texas Independence Day Dinner next March at the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin.
