Eric Johnson says attracting business is his priority during his final year as Dallas mayor.

Since 2020, Dallas has landed headquarters and major expansions, even as AT&T, the Stars and others plan moves outside the urban core or into the suburbs.

“The scoreboard is how we measure effectiveness here,” Johnson said.

Here’s a snapshot of the corporate moves:

AECOM: Moved its global headquarters from Los Angeles to Dallas in 2021. It joined more than 1,200 workers already based at its Dallas office.

Morgan Stanley: Announced a $1.2 billion regional hub projected to create more than 3,800 jobs. The bank is headquartered in New York.

Atlético Dallas: The soccer team announced plans to move its corporate headquarters to Expo Park near Fair Park.

AT&T: Announced in 2026 that it plans to move its global headquarters from downtown Dallas to Plano, with the move expected to begin in 2028. About 6,000 people currently work at its downtown headquarters.

Neiman Marcus’ downtown store: Closed its door permanently after being open more than a century in 2026. Saks Global closed Neiman Marcus’ corporate office in Uptown.

FOX 4: The news station is building its new office in Irving.
