The city of Austin unveiled the Austin Bond Dashboard as a way for residents to view progress on the city’s capital improvement projects. Capital Delivery Services developed the dashboard, rolling out phase one on Oct. 1, according to a memorandum from Mike Rogers, Assistant City Manager.

Individuals can view the dashboard on the city’s homepage. The goal for the dashboard,  according to a news release, is to support “transparency and accountability” for capital improvement projects.

The dashboard shows information about the projects funded through the city’s 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022 General Obligation Bonds, the release states. Cumulatively, the bonds total $2.45 billion, with $1.72 billion spent.

On the dashboard, individuals will find:

Information and summaries about propositions and details for individual projects

Charts depicting project funding and spending

Status updates for each project, showing if it’s anticipated, in design, in construction, completed or cancelled

Dashboard users can search for bond programs by year, projects by name or projects by proposition.

In phase two of the dashboard’s launch, Capital Delivery Services will link projects to their geographic location, enhancing the Geographic Information System. Capital Delivery Services also welcomes feedback from city council and Mayor Kirk Watson, according to the memorandum.
