2. “The Sound of Music”
The classic Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, based on the lives of the von Trapp family, has all musical theater fans’ favorite things: a love story, comedy, drama and all those great songs, including the title song, “Do-Re-Mi” “So Long, Farewell” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain.” The current tour stars off-Broadway and West End veteran Cayleigh Capaldi as Maria. 3. Gruene Music & Wine Fest
This festival, which benefits United Way of Comal and Guadalupe Counties, is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a packed lineup. Every day is a different adventure, with wine tastings, food, live music and evening concerts. 4. UTSA vs. South Florida
The Roadrunners take on the South Florida Bulls at the Alamodome this Thursday night. Both teams are serious contenders for the AAC championship, each with 4-1 records. 5. Spurs vs. Atlanta Hawks

6. Dave Attell
Once named one of the “25 Funniest People in America” by Entertainment Weekly, stand-up comic Attell first rose to fame as the host of Comedy Central’s “Insomniac With Dave Attell.” He’s acquired numerous television and film credits while continuing to tour and film popular comedy specials like his latest, “Hot Cross Buns” on Netflix. 7. Big Texas Comicon

8. Los Tigres del Norte
The iconic norteño band Los Tigres del Norte returns to San Antonio on its “Los Tigres del Mundo” tour. 9. San Antonio Beer Week
Kick off San Antonio Beer Week this weekend with two events sure to please beer lovers. Start your Saturday at Dos Sirenos Brewery for Breakfast & Brews from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This ticketed event includes six pours from participating breweries and a hearty buffet breakfast, plus complimentary coffee and nutroll. Then on Sunday, head over to The Friendly Spot backyard from 2 to 5:30 p.m. for Besties & Brews, the official Beer Week kick-off party. Oct. 10-18, Various Locations
10. Barbacoa & Big Red Festival
