It’s not everyday you walk into a barbecue joint and see an NFL legend in line for a tray of brisket. But this week, New Heights made it to the Houston Heights neighborhood with Jason Kelce being the latest famous face to stop by Terry Black’s Barbecue.
Less than two months after expanding to Houston, the popular Austin-based restaurant shared a photo Thursday of its team posing with retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce at its new two-story location at 1329 N. Shepherd Dr.
‘New Heights takes on the Houston Heights’
“Big thank you to @jason.kelce for stopping by and getting a taste of some Central Texas BBQ. Always a pleasure having you at Terry Black’s!” the restaurant wrote alongside a photo of Kelce with staff in front of the central pit house and five trays of food. Yes, five.
From the post, it looks like Kelce got a full feast of the top-rated restaurant’s heavy hitters: sliced brisket and turkey, ribs, sausage, green beans, mac and cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, creamed corn, pinto beans and about 10 cornbread muffins.

And for the curious Swifties, the post only showed Kelce posing with the Terry Black’s crew, but gave no hint whether his brother Travis or aunt Taylor “Tay Tay” Swift tagged along.
This isn’t the first time Kelce’s been spotted around the Houston Heights area. In September, KPRC’s Nicole Nielsen reported that the Super Bowl LII champion stopped by O Athletik gym for a “top-secret project he has in the works.” In what appears to be the same outfit pictured in the Terry Black’s post, it’s possible that the barbecue restaurant was a pre- or post-workout meal.
