SAN ANTONIO – Police are investigating an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a 23-year-old man was injured in what officers described as a “cutting in progress” call in the 400 block of West Elmira.

According to preliminary information from the San Antonio Police Department, officers were dispatched to the location at 2:52 p.m. Oct. 7, 2026.

When they arrived, they found the complainant, a 23-year-old man, with an injury to his lower extremities.

Police said officers developed suspect information and detained an individual nearby. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made in connection with the assault, police said. The suspect, described as a 41-year-old man, was arrested on a separate, unrelated charge.

The case remains under investigation. Police noted the information is preliminary and subject to change.
