With Prescott walking down the tunnel, someone standing to the side called out to him: “Embarrassing.” Prescott appeared to hear it and reacted, soon after requesting that Cowboys public relations manager David Abbruzese remove the man in question.
Despite some captions on the video labeling otherwise, Cowboys PR clarified that the person who made the comment is not a stadium or team employee but someone from a third-party company.
Prescott was asked about the awkward moment in his postgame media availability.
“When he said it, I just happened to look at him at that point and he looked away” Prescott said of the embarrassing remark. “Then I turned my head back, and he said something else. That’s the part, just as a man of a person, feel free to speak your mind. Just speak it. Don’t cower away from the reaction you’re going to get.”
“Yeah. I mean, not that they’re wrong,” Prescott said. “But the thing was I just … Yeah, I don’t know if it was an employee, it was a driver, whoever it was, he’s free to speak his mind.”
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer was also asked about it, responding with, “People are allowed to say what they want to say.”
