LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Dry conditions and above-normal temperatures will dominate the forecast through the weekend as upper level conditions keep moisture at bay across the region.
Friday will bring another sunny and pleasant day with light winds through the morning. Temperatures will warm to the 80s across the Caprock and upper 80s to lower 90s for areas off the Caprock. By late morning, winds will shift to the southwest, eventually shifting to the south by afternoon.

Saturday and Sunday will continue the dry trend with near steady afternoon temperatures in the low to mid-80s on the Caprock and low 90s off the Caprock.
KCBD(KCBD)
The upper level pattern responsible for the dry conditions will remain in place through the weekend, with dry air keeping precipitation chances near zero.
Pattern change possible early next week
The forecast becomes less certain beyond the weekend, but Tuesday and Wednesday of next week offer the best chances for precipitation.
KCBD(KCBD)
An upper pattern change could bring daily precipitation chances beginning Tuesday, marking a shift from the current dry pattern.
