TxDOT will close both eastbound and westbound Loop 1604 frontage roads at the I-10 interchange from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. overnight Friday through Monday, October 9-12. The eastbound-to-westbound Loop 1604 U-turn will also close overnight, and Loop 1604 U-turns at the interchange will close from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. All flyovers will remain open.
Eastbound drivers on the Loop 1604 frontage road who need to continue through the interchange or enter the eastbound mainlanes should keep right and take the eastbound I-10 frontage road. They will make a U-turn at UTSA Boulevard, enter the westbound I-10 frontage road and keep right to return to the eastbound Loop 1604 frontage road.
Drivers on the westbound Loop 1604 frontage road should keep right onto the westbound I-10 frontage road, make a U-turn at La Cantera Parkway and take the eastbound I-10 frontage road. They can then keep right to return to the westbound Loop 1604 frontage road.
For those who need to get from the eastbound Loop 1604 frontage road to the westbound frontage road, take the eastbound I-10 frontage road and make a U-turn at UTSA Boulevard. Follow the westbound I-10 frontage road to La Cantera Parkway and make another U-turn. Then keep right to reach the westbound Loop 1604 frontage road.
In addition to the overnight closures, Loop 1604 U-turns at the I-10 interchange will close from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11.
TxDOT has detour information for drivers in this area. If you’re on the eastbound Loop 1604 frontage road and need to get to the westbound side, continue through the I-10 interchange. Turn left onto the westbound I-10 frontage road, then turn left again onto the westbound Loop 1604 frontage road.
