SAN ANTONIO — Two men have been arrested in connection with the theft of more than $30,000 in property from new construction sites in southern Bexar County.
According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Pedro Damian Jeronimo Martinez, 23, and Melvin Jonatan Acosta Martinez, 39, were taken into custody Wednesday.
Investigators traced a suspect vehicle linked to the thefts. After locating the vehicle, deputies executed a search warrant and encountered both men at the scene.
Both suspects admitted to their involvement in stealing property from construction sites in the area.
Jeronimo Martinez was charged with theft of property valued between $750 and $2,500. Acosta Martinez faces a higher-tier charge of theft of property valued between $30,000 and $150,000.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding the specific items stolen or the construction sites impacted.
