Kacey (Guadalupe) Musgraves showed a special love to the Latino community by surprising her fans with one of Texas’ most beloved Tejano bands during her Middle of Nowhere tour. The country music star brought out Intocable to perform their new Spanish single, “Uncertain, TX” for the first time during night two of her show at Austin’s Moody Center.

This comes just two days after Musgraves released the entirely Spanish version of her hit song with Intocable earlier this week. Before introducing the group, Musgraves gave a speech saying how proud she is to be from Texas and she’s “very proud of the cultural melting pot that is this state.”

She added that while living part-time in Mexico she was “deeply inspired” by the culture, music and “seeing firsthand the kinship between cowboy culture, cowboy music and Mexican songs and mariachi music.”

“It’s so powerful, and that was really fun on this album to lean into,” she said. “It’s an honor to bring out a group that are legends in musica Mexicana, they are legends in Tejano, Norteño and they’re here now, give it up for Intocable.”

As the group came out, the room was filled with cheers from the crowd and as they took the stage she continued, “this is absolutely incredible. Honestly I can’t believe they were down for the collab.”

“As fellow Texans this is a big moment for me, and I think we should take it on down to Uncertain, TX shall we,” Musgraves said.

The group went on to perform their new single followed by a surprise tribute to the Texas Tornadoes with a cover of “Hey Baby, Que Paso.” But this wasn’t the first time Musgraves has surprised her fans on tour.

The night before, Musgraves brought out Miranda Lambert to perform their joint song, “Horses and Divorces” for the first time in Austin. Her next Texas show is October 10 in Dallas, so who knows what Texas legend she could bring out next.
