SAN ANTONIO — A 10-year-old was hit by a vehicle Friday night after the driver fled from an attempted traffic stop on the North Side, police said.
The incident was reported around 8:15 p.m. in the 13300 block of Kyle Seale Parkway.
According to police, officers tried to stop a vehicle, but the driver evaded them. Officers did not pursue the vehicle.
The driver then traveled through a nearby park area at a high rate of speed. The 10-year-old who was crossing the area was hit before getting out of the way.
The child suffered abrasions after being knocked down but did not have life-threatening injuries, police said.
Authorities are searching for the driver and the vehicle, described as an older SUV.
