HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Houston Police Department is asking for the public’s help in two shootings that left two men dead along the Buffalo Bayou on separate days.
Investigators believe that the two men’s deaths may have happened at the same time.
According to HPD, the first victim was identified as 20-year-old Carlos Tzep Ajpop, who was pronounced dead with a gunshot wound on Sept. 29 at 1001 West Loop South.
Police said that the second victim, who was identified as 20-year-old Oliver Ortiz, was found dead with a gunshot wound on Oct. 2 in a body of water near 7300 Clinton Drive.
Investigators determined that both men were last seen together at 8701 Town Park on Sept. 27, according to HPD. Investigators believe that the men left in their own vehicles, but were traveling together when they were reported missing.
Police also said the men may have participated in local car meetups. Authorities said that both of the victims’ cars were found near the 10500 block of Keegan Road. Not to mention, both men had visible signs of trauma.
