A beloved San Antonio taco spot is giving hungry locals something to celebrate this weekend. After months of uncertainty surrounding a longtime Southside staple, there’s finally some good news for taco lovers.

The restaurant will serve up its famously oversized tacos from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Weekend hours run from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., but don’t show up hungry on Wednesdays as the restaurant will be closed.

The announcement comes after months of confusion surrounding the future of Rolando’s Super Tacos on San Antonio’s Southside.

The longtime taco joint at 93 Shasta Ave. has been feeding San Antonians since 1990, but things took a turn earlier this year. In July, MySA found a sign on the restaurant’s window telling customers, “We will be back soon.”

By August, however, the restaurant was listed as permanently closed on Google. MySA revisited the property and found the same sign, with nobody around. The property had also been listed for sale in October 2025.

Despite sharing a name, the Shasta Avenue restaurant and Rolando’s Super Tacos #1 at 919 W. Hildebrand Ave. are separate businesses, MySA previously confirmed. While the Hildebrand location was not part of the Southside closure, its Facebook page shared the announcement about Rolando’s Super Tacos #2 opening its doors.
