There were nearly 100,000 people at the Cotton Bowl Saturday, but there probably weren’t many having more fun than Freddy.
The German soccer fan and social media personality who went viral over the summer during his North American travels during the World Cup made a stop in Dallas for the Red River Rivalry game between the No. 1 Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners. He brought his typical openness and enjoyment of American culture to the most Texan place on Earth.
“I don’t know why I’ve never heard about this stadium before, but this looks iconic,” Freddy posted from the Cotton Bowl on Saturday.
In addition to watching the game, Freddy posted a photo of a hot dog he ordered at the fairgrounds. He posted a video of Big Tex.
Freddy watched Texas high school football Friday night, dropping in for the Life High School Waxahachie versus Kaufman High School game. He tried to go to a different high school football game before, but it was sold out, he wrote on social media.
“Everyone told us we had to experience Texas high school football, so we decided to check it out,” he wrote. He later called witnessing a high school football game “a cool experience.”
The Dallas stop comes after more than a month on the road for Freddy. He has been traveling through the United States since early September, and Texas-OU marked his fourth college football game so far. Before Red River, he went to games between Iowa and Iowa State, Auburn and Florida and LSU and Texas A&M as part of his fall tour.
