The districts say the incident was in August and hit schools around the country due to a breach in a third-party software.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth Independent School District says its employee information may have been impacted in a “security incident” involving third-party software.

In a statement on the FWISD website, Frontline Education officials told the district that the incident occurred on August 14, 2026, and was remediated the very next day. This incident reportedly hit districts around the country.

Frontline Education is a school administration software that can be used for Human Resources in schools, daily attendance tracking, and school nurse information, among other functions.

FWISD says, “The district takes the security and privacy of employee information seriously. We will continue working with Frontline to better understand the scope of this incident and will provide additional information to employees as it becomes available.”

Crowley ISD confirms its data was impacted as well. Frontline told CISD that “an investigation was conducted, law enforcement was notified, and steps have been taken to address the issue.”

The exposed data reportedly included district employee names, email addresses, home addresses, and Social Security numbers.

District officials say Frontline will be notifying impacted individuals and offering two years of credit monitoring. They have also created a hotline employees can reach out to if they have questions. That hotline can be reached at (833)516-8792.
