The closure is part of TxDOT’s Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, a $1.4 billion infrastructure initiative in North Bexar County designed to expand 23 miles of Loop 1604 from a 4-lane highway into a 10-lane expressway (featuring general-purpose and high-occupancy vehicle, or HOV, lanes) to cut down heavy congestion.
