However, we have some major changes headed to the region before the week is out. Those changes include a chance for severe storms, heavy rainfall and our first ‘fall feeling’ cold front.
We can enjoy tomorrow with another nice, breezy day and afternoon temperatures well above the normal for October.
Tuesday will continue to be warm and breezy with a chance for thunderstorms, some severe, for the South Plains by evening and extending overnight into Wednesday.

In addition to the potential for hail and high winds with severe storms there will be a threat for some localized flooding.

The next change will be cooler temperatures by Wednesday and much colder temperatures arriving by Friday and extending into the weekend.
How cold, I expect daytime highs to dip to the 70s with the rain chances through most of the week. The colder air will likely arrive on Friday with afternoon temperatures in the 60s. Nighttime lows will be chilly with reading likely in the mid to upper 40s
