Brown, a longtime advocate for survivors of domestic violence, will discuss her forthcoming memoir, which chronicles her family’s experience following Nicole’s 1994 murder and her decades of advocacy work.

Denise Brown, sister of the late Nicole Brown Simpson, will visit Downtown Plano’s Bibliobar on Monday, Oct. 12, for a conversation about domestic violence awareness, her sister’s murder and the trial that followed.

Brown, a longtime advocate for survivors of domestic violence, will discuss her forthcoming memoir, which chronicles her family’s experience following Nicole’s 1994 murder and her decades of advocacy work. Nicole’s ex-husband, O.J. Simpson, was acquitted of murder charges in 1995.

Megan Valdez, CEO of Plano-based nonprofit Hope’s Door New Beginning Center, will lead the discussion. The organization provides comprehensive domestic violence services to residents of Collin County and northeast Dallas County.

Valdez brings more than 20 years of experience in victim services, including shelter operations, outreach and program leadership. She will also share resources for domestic violence prevention and survivor support.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at Bibliobar’s new location, 1024 E. 15th St. Attendance is free with an RSVP, and guests can also purchase a ticket that includes a copy of Brown’s new book. Only books purchased through Bibliobar will be eligible for signing.
