Resisting arrest is a crime in and of itself that will add even more charges to your list. https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2EcnxL_15agsOiE00UnsplashOversharing to PoliceIf you feel you are innocent, you may want to explain everything to the cops. This can often lead to self-incrimination: unintentionally saying things that will prove your guilt of certain crimes. https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=06QOyC_15agsOiE00UnsplashNot Hiring a Proper LawyerThere are countless lawyers and attorneys out there. The challenge is finding one that is within your budget and has the proper knowledge to help you in your time of crisis. https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=20MjcJ_15agsOiE00UnsplashBlocking Your Own DefenseWanting an active role in your defense can often lead to getting in the way of your attorney inside and outside of the courtroom. https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=17vHDW_15agsOiE00UnsplashHiding EvidenceYou should always provide ALL evidence to your lawyer, no matter how severe or humiliating. Hiding evidence can only lead to disaster in your case. https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=17jKIb_15agsOiE00UnsplashGiving Away EvidenceOn the other hand, voluntarily passing along evidence to cops without speaking with your attorney first can lead to accidental self-incrimination. https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1IcDwT_15agsOiE00UnsplashImproper Clothing in CourtThe courtroom should be treated as a place of respect and modesty. Dressing in pajamas or a T-shirt and jeans can actually land you in more hot water for failing to follow the dress code. https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=3JOw9m_15agsOiE00UnsplashTampering with WitnessesThis may seem obvious, but even talking in passing to any witnesses before your trial can lead to massive charges of tampering. You should always let your attorney handle any communication with the judge, other attorneys, or witnesses. Sharing Information on Social MediaYour case information should be exclusive to you, the judge, and your attorney. Anyone else such as witnesses or a jury can be included but only at the judge’s discretion, not yours. https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2BDpIF_15agsOiE00UnsplashHiring a Cheap LawyerWe all wish we had a cousin Vinny in our family, but hiring a cheap lawyer can often mean they have little to no experience in handling cases such as yours. Investing in a good attorney can often mean the difference between being not guilty and spending the rest of your life in jail.
