Jashan is the only new Collin County restaurant named to the Michelin Guide’s 2026 Texas
Plano’s dining scene has a new distinction to celebrate. Jashan, an Indian-inspired restaurant in Legacy North, was named a 2026 Michelin Selected restaurant, earning a place in the guide less than a year after welcoming its first guests.
The Michelin Guide announced its 2026 Texas restaurant selections Oct. 8, recognizing restaurants across the state for their food and dining experiences. Jashan was the only new Collin County restaurant added to the guide this year.
“On November 13, 2025, we opened our doors with a simple belief: Indian cuisine deserves to be celebrated for everything it already is — its history, its extraordinary techniques, its diversity, and above all, its soul,” Jashan said in a social media post. “Today, less than eleven months later, Jashan has been recognized as a 2026 Michelin Selected restaurant.”
A New Take On Indian Fine Dining
Located at 7401 Lone Star Drive, Jashan is the first restaurant venture for owner Prasanna Singaraju. The menu comes from chefs Ashish Bhasin and Ramesh Thangaraj, whose cooking draws on regional specialties from across India.
Rather than center its menu on one region or style, Jashan explores a broad range of Indian culinary traditions, from Delhi and Lucknow to the country’s coastal communities. The restaurant sources spices from Kerala to Kashmir, produce from nearby farms and seafood flown in daily.
The Michelin Guide’s review points to the kitchen’s careful technique and layered flavors. Dishes include tomato and raw mango rasam, shiso patta chaat with crisp textures and chutneys, slow-cooked dal makhani, paneer preparations, biryani and saag. The beverage program also gets attention, with an extensive wine list and cocktails such as a mango chutney negroni.
“Jashan is more than a restaurant; it’s the realization of a dream fueled by passion and perseverance,” Singaraju previously said. “Each dish reflects my journey and connection to Indian fine dining. From the doubts of ‘can I do this?’ to the triumph of ‘I made it happen,’ Jashan embodies years of hard work and dedication. Every detail, from the decor to the menu, carries pieces of my heart.”
What Michelin Selected Means
A Michelin Selected designation recognizes restaurants that Michelin’s anonymous inspectors consider worth recommending for the quality of their cooking. It is distinct from a Michelin star, which recognizes especially high levels of culinary achievement, and the Bib Gourmand designation, which highlights good food at a more accessible price.
Inspectors visit restaurants without announcing themselves and pay their own bills. Their evaluations follow five criteria: the quality of ingredients, mastery of cooking techniques and flavors, the chef’s personality as expressed through the cuisine, value for money and consistency between visits.
The process is designed to assess what diners experience at the table, rather than a restaurant’s reputation or the attention surrounding its opening.
Two Michelin-Recommended Restaurants In Collin County
Jashan joins Harvest at the Masonic, the first Collin County restaurant to earn a place in the Michelin Guide Texas. Harvest received its initial recognition in 2024, the guide’s debut year in Texas, and has retained its recommendation each year since. Executive Chef Andrea Shackelford leads the kitchen.
Neither Collin County restaurant has received a Michelin star. Still, both have earned a place among the guide’s recommended dining destinations, putting Plano and McKinney on the map for diners looking beyond the state’s largest culinary hubs.
