Local gas prices drop 18.2 cents in a week, bringing some relief for local drivers

SAN ANTONIO – Drivers are seeing some relief at the pump this week, with average gas prices dropping sharply over the past seven days.

Average gasoline prices in San Antonio have fallen 18.2 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.68 a gallon on Oct. 12, 2026, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 886 stations in San Antonio.

Prices are 19.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago but remain $1.17 a gallon higher than a year ago.

Across the country, the national average price of gasoline has fallen 0.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $4.29 a gallon, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering more than 150,000
