Sea Shells by the Sea Shore – An Acrylic Painting Class with Marshall Hall

Join Seasoned Artist Marshall Hall and bring the beauty of the coast to your canvas in this one day acrylic painting class!
On a 16×20 canvas, students will learn what techniques Marshall Hall uses to capture the delicate texture and natural colors of seashells. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced painter, you’ll build confidence with acrylic paints inspired by the treasures of our shores.
All supplies are provided.

This is a fantastic opportunity for organizations involved in any art form—dance, music, fine arts, film, and beyond—to boost our community’s cultural scene and economy.

Guided Nature Walk – Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve
Join us for a guided interpretive walk on some of the Preserve trails! This program is free of charge, and open to both individuals and families from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. No reservations are required, you need only meet us at the Learning Center porch at the program start time. Please bring good walking shoes, water, and dress for the weather; bug spray and sunscreen are highly recommended!
Viking 5K at Viking Fest – Del Mar College
Join us for the Viking 5K at Del Mar College on Saturday, November 15, at the 2nd Annual Viking Fest. The race kicks off at 11:00 AM with the iconic Viking Horn, setting the tone for a day of music, food, competitions, and community.

Sewing Made Simple: Skirt Project w/ Shirin Delsooz

This class is open to minors 13 and up – all minors must be accompanied by an adult!
A few pieces of fabric come together like magic for an impressive result!
In this class, beginners and beyond will learn how to work with stretch fabric and explore the foundations of garment construction while sewing a simple skirt that you’ll be proud to wear regularly.
We’ll begin with sewing machine safety and hands-on practice with test fabric. Then we’ll walk through the skirt instructions together. For an added optional challenge, you can sew on pockets
What makes this class unique is the way it’s taught. While your instructor goes around providing one-on-one support, you can refer to a printed guide and a video tutorial. We will make the most of our time learning, sewing and having fun. By the end of this class, you’ll walk away with a finished skirt and a lot of handy new sewing skills!

This year’s Jewish Food Festival takes place November 15th and 16th at Congregation Beth Israel in Corpus Christi. Credit/debit cards and cash are accepted. All food is served to go, but seating will be available to enjoy on-site as well.
